Our Mission

Uncle Ken's Kitchen is a one half hour children's television show that engages kids by teaching them how to prepare various recipes and instructs them about the value of healthy eating and nutrition. Human and puppet characters, along with celebrity guests will provide a fun interactive and comfortable environment, in which to teach kids about a subject of vital importance to them — food. Uncle Ken's Kitchen will be produced for syndication and it is anticipated that the show will initially be aired on Public Broadcasting Systems (PBS), WLIW Plainview, New York, WCNY Syracuse, New York, and WSKG Binghampton, New York. The American Independent Network (AIN), with 44 stations across the United States, has also agreed to air our show. They reach more than ten-million households. Uncle Ken's Kitchen is also online. We have access to direct interaction, so that youngsters will be able to ask us questions about the foods we prepare.

The daily television show will teach America's parents and children how they can prepare nutritious foods that look and taste great right in their own kitchens. It will educate its audience about food, its nutritional value and the way it can be prepared. Uncle Ken's Kitchen will employ music, animation and some claymation. Each episode will be reviewed and approved by an accomplished staff of medical professionals, educators and master chefs.

Uncle Ken's Kitchen will emphasize what children should and should not eat, with information about nutrition and its benefits. Children and parents will watch as delicious foods are prepared and concurrently hear about the nutritional value of the meal or snack being created through what will be referred to as a "Recipe Rating System". Children and guests will work with Uncle Ken, Pepper McSpice and Grandma, puppet characters and professional chefs. Recipes will be displayed on screen and archived on the show web site so that they may be done then or copied for future parentally supervised attempts.
